about essensa

Essensa is the solution for top-quality group purchasing and business solutions. Originally launched as GNYHA Alternate Care Purchasing Corporation, we started doing business under the name Essensa in 2009 to better reflect the national scope of our offerings and membership.

Today, Essensa provides group purchasing services for ambulatory and diagnostic imaging centers, senior nutrition centers, clinical laboratories, long-term acute care (LTAC) facilities, hospice and home health agencies, colleges and universities, first responders, charitable/religious organizations, municipalities and other commercial markets.

Essensa is a wholly owned subsidiary of GNYHA Ventures, Inc., the for-profit arm of GNYHA, and through a contractual relationship, is affiliated with Premier, the nation's largest acute care GPO. Through our affiliation with Premier, Essensa provides access to the most competitive and extensive portfolio available with the flexibility to deliver unique contract enhancements and regional contracts to meet the individual needs of our members. Together, we provide over $34 billion in combined annual purchasing volume. With access to the Premier purchasing program, Essensa members are able to access pricing currently enjoyed by more than 2,000 hospitals and over 50,000 additional health care sites throughout the nation.
